Considering making a forum.

So, I had this idea all of a sudden to create a forum for the purpose of sharing and helping create original characters. Of course, running a forum is no easy task, especially when there are many people and the risk of spam/trolls/etc. involved. Thus, I'd like some tips on how best to approach this. I am going to use Forumotion like Justin does for this site, and even have a good idea of the hierarchy of the forums. Any further help would be appreciated though.

Also, if you know somebody who absolutely knows how to make interesting and well-developed characters, please refer me to them; I'd be willing to make them mods or even co-admins, so that I won't have to be burdened with the management. Thanks!

When the forum is launched, I'd like some help designing the characters from my Aozora Jitsuwa series, as well as (minor) improvements on the existing ones.

That will definitely be a service offered.

Also, I need a bit of help. How do you get the category names to show up on the forum home? That is, I'd like to have my forums grouped by category, but don't know where to go.
