| I was just wondering something, about from whose caracters some of the RKS girls were inspired. Some are just obvious, like Sichte for instance from Sakuya and Dio ("tokiga tomare !")... Or Grolla/Zero. Others could be more subjects to interpretation: I see Asuna (Negima!) in the eyes of Zorne, but some of you may argue with that... Trau is quite Leviathan-ish (Megaman Zero) in her gameplay, but also in her looks too. But for Luste, and even more Schwer, I don't have a clue. Maybe they're not refering to anyone ! But if that's the case, I'm a bit curious. Their respective outfits alone, seem quite unique to me ! Any guess ? | |

| True, I missed that: Etna was half-naked too ! Disgaea, how much hours did I spent on it... | |

| True, the patterns are quite easy to reed indeed Schwer's attack looks more like Yuyuko's "Reincarnation Ghost", it comes from the outside and then forms a barrier. But her look, that's a mystery for me. | |

| That's very much true, though I'm pretty sure Graf Michael and Raimund were both inspired by Castlevania's renditions of Dracula and Death respectively. There's no mistaking it. | |

That much I'll grant. I was referring to Luste and Schwer specifically. :3

| That was my point in asking: are they original characters, or did I miss some references ? I was just curious about it: I'm not aware of every anime or game ever made.... Graf comes directly from Castlevania's Bloodlines... Not to mention, Dr. Loli... err Iris ! | |

| That nut-job Iris looks kinda like Misa Amane from Death Note if you ask me. Heck, I even made a Gaia topic if Light and Misa got married and their child would ends up being Iris Zeppelin. As for Schwer... well thanks to zaku6's h-doujishi, now I question if Schwer-Muta is either a flatty she's busty like Patchouli Knowledge... >_> | |

| Well, as long it's not from X-Kira.. >_< But you've got a point, they look alike. Misa is probably even more nuts than Iris, that could explain some stuff And that would imply, Light was so tired of her, he became some strange looking old vampire. Bad ending. Women can be scary sometimes, as you all know | |

| You mean his ultimate attack ? The "Shineeeeeee" thing That's probably some astral materialization or something like that, not his actual sword. Before he casts it, the sword vanish, but it's far too big to be the actual sword. I liked the name so I call this HimmelSchwert ... | |

| I'm a little surprised that everyone missed the other half of the inspiration for Count Zeppelin's design, especially when I practically gave it away with the graphical upgrade at the end of the trial version:
Zeppelin is a cross between Vlad Tepes Dracula from Castlevania and Scythe Master from Phantom of Inferno. Isemiya is a huge visual novel fan (particularly Nitro+ titles), and Phantom was Nitro+'s debut work. The original trial features an 8-bit version of Scythe, whereas Freudenstachel's has Scythe cosplaying as Zeppelin to underscore the reference.
...Nobody said that the Count was a human-turned-vampire outside of the fanon.

| True indeed, I completely missed that: never heard of Phantom of Inferno, my bad.... I thought the 8-bits version of Graf was some reference to the 8 bits Megaman series, a kind of old-school version of Zeppelin. Except some of the Type Moon games, I don't play visual novels that often to be honnest. | |

| Lots and lots of shout outs in the character designs, yes. Sometimes they're less references to specific characters and more "tropes."
Luste - Probably a reference to Disgaea's Etna, and of course Megaman 2's Metalman, right down to being weak against her own weapon...
Zorne - One giant Bomberman reference. Her metal arm may be a sly nod to Bomberman Act Zero.
Schwer-Muta - The generic creepy-cute moe girl. Attack pattern reminiscent of Megaman 2's Woodman.
Trauare - Fairy Leviathan of the Megaman Zero series. Splash Woman came after her, so the other resemblance is a coincidence. Her weapon is something like the Air Shooter, too, and like Airman is weak against the Leaf Shield analogue.
Grolla - Over the past ten years or so, it seems mandatory to have a character like this: the tall, scary, more-or-less-obviously-lesbian swordswoman. The trend was probably started with Mai from Kanon, continued with my namesake Hazuki in Yami to Boushi to Hon no Tabibito and Chikane from Kannazuki no Miko, and has more or less exploded from there.
Sichte - The love child of Izayoi Sakuya and Dio Brando, right down to "toki wo tomare!" and knife throwing.
Raimund Seyfert - Castlevania's Death, of course. Michael Zepperin is also obviously modelled on SoTN's Dracula.
Iris - The innocent look is more or less for shock value. She's based on Dr. Wily and, somewhat less obviously, Lumine from Megaman X8. Also looks uncannily like Yamibou's Hatsumi, which is making me think involuntarily of Grolla x Iris and how messed up that would be...ugh.

Lesbian, you say? That's an interesting development. Even with being friends with her superior Sichte, I have yet to see her develop intimate feelings for her or any other girl.

| Well, caling her Sichte-dono sure creates a phantasm about a master-subordinate relationship between the two girls... But it is all about that: a phantasm, actually not a canon fact. We'll see if RKSF brings some new development about that. The final Iris fight makes lots of memories come back: the fight against Angel-form Copy X in the first Megaman Zero (a cult battle if I may add), the background from Final Fantasy 6's battle against... Angel-form Kefka: that's not a coincidence at all. | |

Oh, nothing is mentioned outright, but it's become very common for there to be "is she or isn't she?" character in things like this recently, and usually the ones who "are" are this type: straight long hair, carries a sword, low voice, kind of scary, downward-slanted eyes...

| Scary, low voice... Her voice perfectly fts her character, and every time I start my computer she welcomes me: I replaced the crappy Windows sounds by the RKS voice cast. Sono inochi... Haa Grolla, say it again ! Say my naaame Eifer's line "kiero, baka" fits also perfectly to the... Anti-adds filter: disappear, fool ! Grolla's relationship with Sichte, yeah that could be interpreted this way, it might be what erka:es wanted the players to think. But as you said, this isn't mentionned as so: that's a door open to all the doujin fantasies... Same could be said for a "Zorne x Trau", too... | |
